The current 400 Series Toned Sketch and 400 Series Mixed Media (white) papers have become favorites among artists, but Strathmore discovered an unmet need. Artists are looking for a toned paper that is not only suitable for sketching and drawing with light and dark media, but that can also stand up to wet media applications.
Strathmore 400 Series Toned Mixed Media papers are heavyweight, and are in the same warm tan and cool gray colors as our Toned Sketch papers. These new products are intended for use specifically with light and dark media. Toned Mixed Media papers also combine the characteristics of a watercolor paper with the finish of a drawing sheet, creating a paper that performs for all wet and dry media. It’s the perfect hybrid of two beloved products: 400 Series Toned Sketch and 400 Series Mixed Media. Officially launched at NAMTA 2017, the NEW 400 Series Toned Mixed Media pad line started shipping March 5, 2017 from Strathmore.
Strathmore 400 Series Toned Mixed Media product features include:
- 184 lb / 300 gsm heavyweight paper.
- Warm tan or cool gray, toned for use with light & dark media.
- Medium drawing surface with the wet media characteristics of a watercolor sheet.
- Bark and Kraft fiber inclusions for visual interest, just like Toned Sketch.
- Appropriate for finished work.
- Flip-over covers with glue binding.
- 15 sheets of paper per pad.
- Acid free.
- 100% Recycled with 30% PCW content.
- Made in the U.S.A.
- Toned Tan Mixed Media available in 6” x 8” (SM462-206), 9” x 12” (SM462-209), 11” x 14” (SM462-211), or 18” x 24” (SM462-218) pads.
- Toned Gray Mixed Media available in 6” x 8” (SM462-306), 9” x 12” (SM462-309), 11” x 14” (SM462-311), or 18” x 24” (SM462-318) pads.
