deniseDenise Mbugua has joined Sam Flax in Atlanta as their new Buyer/Inventory Control & Planning. Denise had previously worked at AI Freidman, in NY.

AI Friedman’s new buyer is Lauren Haimelen.  She will be taking over Cliff Zelenko’s duties; Cliff is retiring at the end of the month.

bermanRick Berman left Tombow recently and has joined Crescent as Sales Manager Art Materials reporting to Linda Hart VP of Art Materials and National Accounts.  He will be supporting Crecent’s team of Independent Rep Groups.

Jim Villman, the creator of Stretch Master, the reusable stretcher bar system for canvas, watercolor and fabric, passed away. He lived in Palm Springs and was 85 years old.

Kim and Kevin Cooke, owners of Greens Art Supply in downtown Birmingham, Michigan for the past 50 years, are sad to report the store is closing. The other Green’s store in nearby Rochester will remain open and the Cooke’s son, Matthew, will join the family business as the new sales manager.

Craig Lemley of Dakota Art Store in Washington state was featured in the Skagit Valley Herald as Mount Vernon’s King of Colors – keeping the world of pastels turning with a selection of 7,500 colors for the pastel artist. Read the entire article here: Dakota Art

Montana Artist Collective(M.A.C.) artist Wane collaborated with Mass Appeal and Nike to create this cool urban art project.

Genesis Art Supply in Chicago is rebranding to the name ArtSupply.com and moving from their present location in mid-August to a 17,000-square-foot headquarters in the nearby Bucktown area.

The Buy Big & Save video is a great way to promote the value of larger sizes on your website or in social media during the GOLDEN Buy Big & Save promotional period.
