Strathmore Introduces “Artist How-To” Video Series

Strathmore is excited to introduce a new initiative to offer consumers educational information as it relates to art. The new video series called “Artist How-To” videos have launched in May, 2015. In these short video segments, Strathmore has paired with professional artists to offer artist tips and techniques as it relates to a specific type of art or medium.

The first set of “Artist How-To” videos available in this new series, include 5 new videos created by Strathmore’s Artist Educator and Colored Pencil expert Sarah Becktel. Colored Pencil is HOT, and in these short 2-4 minute videos, Sarah explains her tips and techniques for creating artwork using this trending medium. This content is great for artists just starting out with colored pencil, or for those who have interest in the media but need a bit of guidance on where to begin.

Kevin Lavin

Kevin Lavin, formerly General Manager of daVinci Art in NYC, has joined JJC Industries LLC wholesaler of DANIEL SMITH products in the new role as North American Accounts and New Business Development.  Kevin’s years of retailing expertise, his ability to see the big picture and his passion for the growth and success of the art materials industry overall, makes him the perfect fit for this new position.

Well respected Don Nederhand, technical advisor for 22 years for Royal Talens, passed away last week. He was 65 years old.
