Ampersand is experiencing longer lead times due to raw material supplier issues on Gessobord and Aquabord. Following is the information we received from them:
“Gessobord: We have not been producing Gessobord due to a raw material supplier issue. However, the good news is that we are back in production but we now have a significant backlog. We are running an extra shift and are focused on increasing our coating capacity so that we can get through the backlog quickly. We are working directly with each customer to make sure they get their back orders filled as quickly as possible.
Aquabord: We are currently not shipping Aquabord – again due to a change in one of the raw materials. We are taking advantage of this current challenge to make some changes that will improve the Aquabord surface.
We apologize for these production delays. Ampersand’s specialty coatings are made from natural mineral sources that on occasion can change. Most often the changes are minimal and do not affect our products. However, sometimes the changes require us to re-work our formulas and find new and better ways to make our products. As you know, we take extra precautions to provide artists with the most archivally prepared panels on the market – we stand behind that promise and we are committed to delivering products your customers can trust. We see these recent changes as creative challenges to help us improve our surfaces and stabilize our manufacturing so that in the long term we can service you more efficiently.
